The Advantages of Closing a Few Doors – New York Times

I get a curious feeling of elation when I close down certain options; but I still feel the need to keep as many options on the table as possible, why else would I be a member of so many social networks? Seriously, if someone wants me they can find me – why am I on myspace, bebo, linkedin and facebook?

(And that’s ignoring the double option of computers and drawing that I’ve kept on the table for the past 20 years – one or the other Paul. Gah)

Yeah, I’ve closed down my FB profile for the expressed reason that it wasn’t adding anything to my life. All the people I knew on there were people I already had on other buddy lists
