Now, why is it that when someone prays to god to help with their decision making process god **always** decides that they should do whatever it is that they were gonna do anyways? It’s a similair phenomena to how middle-aged men always find soul mates that are in their early 20s. How come their soul mates aren’t, you know, in their 80s?

Also its gonna take me a while to catch up with myself on this here blogstrip thing.

Because in their little closed minds they’re giving God the chance to change their minds. And if God doesn’t change their minds, well it must have been the right decision.

I sometimes wish I could abdicate my responsibilities to the tooth fairy….

    Reminds me of the joke…

A rabbi, a priest, and a minister are discussing what they do with donations to their respective religious organizations. The minister says that he draws a circle on the floor, throws the money up in the air, and whatever lands in the circle, he gives to God, and whatever lands outside the circle, he keeps.

The priest uses a similar method. He draws the circle, but whatever lands outside the circle, he gives to God, and whatever lands inside, he keeps.

The rabbi has a slightly different method of dividing the money. He throws all the money up in the air. Whatever God wants, he keeps…

I feel that while it’s true people do this, it’s just another example that faith is just their own voice telling them everything’s going to be okay no matter what. So that they can do stupid things and not go crazy thinking about them. In a way it’s a sort of constant relief that really does work, but not necessarily in the right way. I feel compelled sometimes to give in, it would all be so easy, but I’ve never enjoyed life when it was easy.
