Week Beginning Monday 13th April

Alrighty, lets do a quick recap, the plan last week:

Monday – Wiped out. Maybe one page of inks.
Tuesday – DT Inks 7-8
Wednesday Inks DT 9-10
Thursday Inks DT 11-12
Friday Inks DT 13-14
Saturday TO Pencils 10-11 (double page spread) Inks 10-11 (brought over from last week)
Sunday Catch up on anything I missed.

Ok, well, for me, the good news was: Dog Tag inks complete!* 22 pages! All finished. I got through that much faster than expected.

How it actually went down: Monday, wiped out. Tuesday inks 9-10-11 (I’d somehow cocked up my sums here and had done up to page 8 the previous week) Wed page 12, Thur 13-14-15, Frid 16-17, Sat 18-19, Sun 20-21-22

So a total 15 pages of inks (I mean looking at it, I could’ve done another 4) BUT didn’t even get near Terran Omega Pencils. That is no a priority for this week.

Now, I say Dog Tag inks complete – well here’s the thing, somehow, way back several months ago when I printed the script and did the thumbnails, I somehow lost the last page of the script – I print double sided, so that last page had two pages of script on it (Mark Russell writes a TIGHT script) and I thumbed 22 pages (again MONTHS ago) then I went back to the script and started pencilling last month, pencilled 22 pages and sent those, and then this month I inked the thing. All 22 pages. Sent them off to the editor and got an email back saying great! where’s the final two pages.

Weirdly final pages have a feel to them and page 22 of this didn’t feel like a final page. Also, by this stage I’d entirely lost the script and was going by a pages document, but I was going page at a time, so when asked about the script I went back and there they were… two pages I hadn’t even read.

Anyway, that’s thrown me off a bit and I have a new plan:

Monday – Pencils DT p23-24, inks DT 23 reference hunt DT24
Tuesday – DT Inks 24 Terran Omega pencils 9-10-11
Wednesday TO pencils 12-13-14
Thursday New 2000ad Thing (call it 2k) ep1, pencils 1-2-3
Friday 2k pencils 4-5-6
Saturday TO Inks p9-10 (double page spread)
Sunday Catch up on anything I missed.

That’s it. I’m divying the week up into projects to finish, projects for me, and projects for 2000ad. I’m hoping I can get more Terran Omega done than I’ve allowed time for, we’ll see.

I’ve partially moved a studio down to the living room, this is in part because… well, it’s lonely in my room, and lonely for my wife! kids are older (and so she’s more often sat alone of an evening while I work at my desk upstairs) and we’re sitting one floor apart, so we’ve shunted things about in our little used dining area (more often used for home office work anyway) and combined with the Apple neo I’m now working – at least digitally – down there. This suits me pretty good actually, I do love having a studio space but the studio space in my room is tiny and a lot more isolated feeling than the old studio room in our flat was (it was off the corridor of the flat, so you had to walk past it to go from the living room to pretty much any other room).

Anyway we’ll see how long this lasts, but for now, this is a much easier way to keep my bum on the chair and working.

Some fun stats for you!

Here’s how many hours I’ve been sat at the computer inking (at least since I’ve turned this option on!)
