On the Eisner Nomination For Best Webcomic for Terran Omega

Well, now, that’s sort of extraordinary. Last week the Eisner nominations were announced and Terran Omega: The Ghosts of War has been nominated in Webcomic category.

There are seven nominations in that category in total, and the winner will be decided by the comics industry. This is very much the equivalent of an Oscar Nomination for Best Short.

It’s weird, because I feel a little dislocated from it, much in the way that I am from the comic – I wrote, pencilled, inked, coloured, lettered the thing so it’s ALL me, and yet I feel like it’s separate from me – like I’m telling people about a project a friend of mine has done, which I think deserves wider exposure. Which is why I have no qualms asking people to vote for it – this isn’t for me personally, it’s for a story a friend of mine wrote and another friend drew (it’s just that those friends are also me).

As it happened, official word of the nomination came while I was in Athens, on my own for a week for Comicdom Athens, a massive comic convention that really feels like Athens has a healthy home grown self published market place, so it was nice to actually be in a place where I can talk to people about it and they’ll know what it is.

Anyway, that’s the exciting news. I’m pretty grateful to receive the nomination, but I’m more grateful for everyone who has come along to read it. If this is your first time, please come in, and I hope you enjoy it.

OH! And a reminder – the b&w version is here on my blog, but over on my patreon, for a very low monthly fee (I think it’s like a dollar) you can read it all in full colour – and some of those pages are spectacular looking (and whatever amount you can contribute does all help!)
